About Us
The Centre for Responsible Credit (CfRC) is a dedicated unit established within the Centre for Economic and Social Inclusion to:
- monitor the development of credit markets
- research models of responsible provision, and
- promote policy responses which protect the long term interests of households.
Whilst we are particularly focused on the U.K but given the global nature of credit markets also works in partnership with similarly focused organisations at an international level and we are affiliated to the European Coalition for Responsible Credit.
We provide a range of services, including:
- news and analysis of the latest developments in policy and practice on credit, debt and financial exclusion issues
- research and strategic consultancy at all levels including for local partnerships, and
- policy driven events, including our flagship Responsible Credit UK Convention.

The work of the Centre is guided by an Advisory Group of leading academics and consumer activists drawn from across the UK and abroad. Further details of our staff and Advisory Group are available from the 'People at the Centre' tab on the left.
